Being gluten free means avoiding gluten, an ingredient often found in wheat, rye and barley! A gluten free diet helps provide relief from unpleasant symptoms caused by gluten intolerance which can include bloating, pain and fatigue. Some people follow a gluten free diet because they have a gluten intolerance or celiac disease, but many others have found that eating a gluten free diet leads to improved health and wellbeing. Eating a gluten free diet requires being mindful of all the ingredients used in food preparation, but there are plenty of delicious and nutritious gluten free foods to choose from. Commonly consumed foods like fruits and vegetables, nuts, beans, dairy and eggs, are naturally free from gluten. Gluten free grains such as brown rice, quinoa, millet and buckwheat are a great substitute for traditionally gluten containing grains like wheat, rye and barley. By opting for gluten free foods, you can enjoy meals full of flavour and satisfaction without compromising your health.
