Living a gluten-free lifestyle is all about embracing a healthier way of living that involves consciously avoiding products that contain gluten. Gluten is found in grains like wheat, barley, and rye, so gluten-free foods limit those grains and focus instead on other sources of carbohydrates like potatoes, rice, lentils, and sweet potatoes. Eating gluten-free also means avoiding ingredients like malt, oats, and triticale (a cross between wheat and rye). The good news is that many gluten-free products, such as quinoa, buckwheat, and millet, are naturally gluten-free and nutrient-rich. Sticking to a gluten-free diet can have many health benefits, like better digestion due to improved gut health, fewer headaches, weight loss, improved concentration, and increased energy. But the trick to going gluten-free is to find healthy and delicious alternatives to your favorite wheat-based foods. With a little bit of research, you’ll be able to find the perfect foods to satisfy your cravings without compromising your health.
