Balancing your schedule as a working at home mom can be incredibly overwhelming and difficult. As a stay-at-home mom who works remotely, you have the struggle of accomplishing important work tasks while still taking the time to dedicate to taking care of your kids. Finding a good balance is key, so here are some tips to help.

First and foremost, create a daily schedule and stick to it. This will help you stay organized and on task for both your work and home responsibilities. Each day, make a to-do list of everything you need to get done and prioritize your tasks based on their importance. You should also set aside times for yourself, like reading or exercising and make sure to allot at least a few hours for family time.

Second, if possible, try to get the bulk of your work done during the times when your children are in school or asleep. This way, you’ll have uninterrupted time to be productive and able to finish quickly when they wake up or come home. Even if you can’t do all of your work during these windows of time, you can use them to make progress towards your goals.

Third, set realistic expectations for yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself for not getting everything done by the end of the day and understand that it takes time to get into your groove. You don’t need to be perfect, just aim to get the most important things done and move on from there.

Fourth, find creative solutions to common struggles. Young children can get easily distracted by mommy’s work and try to get your attention. Work around this circumstance by engaging with them and creating activities that will keep them occupied while you complete your tasks.

Fifth, incorporate technology into your routine. Technology can be a great asset to moms who are working from home. Utilize online tools and applications to help ease the burden of planning and tracking tasks. That way, you can spend less time on administrative work and more time focusing on yourself and your family.

Sixth, don’t be afraid to delegate. As a working at home mom, it can be easy to do everything yourself. However, it’s important to understand that you don’t have to, and delegating tasks to others can be a huge help. Ask for help from family and friends who are willing to lend a hand or hire a babysitter for when you need to take a break from work.
